I have neglected writing any posts these last three weeks. I am feeling a little more motivated though now. My dad has been gone for three weeks now...it just doesn't seem possible that three weeks ago he passed away. I have had a lot on my plate though and finding the motivation to write anything has been a bit challenging.

I had a goal to write a post every day to help bring awareness to the plight of orphans. Do you remember hearing in the news how Putin signed into law that Americans would no longer be able to adopt Russian orphans? I was sad to read an update from Reeces Rainbow with some changes they are making. They are necessary but it still made me sad. You can click on the link to learn more but because of these changes, I have to change how I do posts to introduce you to different orphans. I would still like to post about orphans in Russia but the focus needs to be about praying for that orphan that a change will happen so they will have an opportunity again to have a forever family.

Thanks for your patience while I am getting focused again and back in the swing of things.

Orphan A Day: Carter

Today I would like to introduce you to Carter. Isn't he a peanut? He looks like one even though he'll be turning six this year. He looks strong doesn't he? I can see it in his eyes..but I also see how much he needs a family to love on him.

I hope to still post an Orphan A Day over the next week and a half but will be heading to Alaska tomorrow in preparation of my dad's passing. I will get caught up when I come back home though. Thank you all for keeping all of these orphans in your prayers.

Orphan A Day: Jensen

Please meet Jensen. Isn't he a handsome guy? I just love his smile...it just radiates in his whole face! Jensen will age out in August of this year. Pray that his family sees him and can get to him in time.

Orphan A Day: Barton

Today I would like you to meet Barton. Barton is in need of an immediate family because he is getting ready to age out since he is almost 16. Do you like to be outdoors or like music? These are somethings that Barton loves :)

Please pray for Barton. I don't know what his life will be like after he turns 16 but if his family finds him in time, his life will be so much more full of life.

Orphan A Day

It is now February 10th and I have not done A Orphan A Day post in over a week. I had been thinking of doing this weekly but at the same time feel like each orphan deserves their own day. So I am going to add a child's photo to today's post for the last 8 days to be all caught up.

Today I got onto the My Family Found me link on Reeces Rainbow and saw this photo with an updated one included! Do you remember Bowen?? I blogged about him recently...I am so happy that he has a family coming for him :)

An update photo of Bowen

Now onto the real reason for today's post. Please meet Cora Lynne...isn't she a beauty?  Cora Lynne is six and will be in an institution too soon.

Now meet Brandi. Look at her smile!! So joyous.

This is Iryna. Don't you just love her hair? She is making progress but would be doing so much better with the love of a family.

Meet Suzanne. Suzanne has already been sent to an institution. Please pray that her family finds her soon.

Now meet Daphne. Daphne faces institution as well. She is just beautiful and like the other girls I am posting today, really, truly, needs the love of a family.

Here's another beauty...meet Danielle. Danielle is in need of surgery to remove the area near her mouth. She sounds like a wonderful little girl.

Meet Shawna and Seth...a brother and sister. They had a family commit to them but then back out. Look at the love between the two of them :)

Please pray for each and everyone of these children. They all need their family to find them.

Orphan A Day: Patrick and Evan

I have decided to change things up a bit. I want to remain committed to introducing you to an orphan a day but am going to try posting weekly instead of daily. I am very aware of the fact that these posts about orphans get many less views than my other posts but I am determined to not let that deter me.

So, please meet Patrick. Patrick is in a wheel chair and has some medical needs that makes his body very more susceptible to have broken bones. But look at how handsome he is!

And now meet Evan. Evan has needs that OT and PT could really help with. Reading his description, it breaks my heart to hear that he is picked on where he is living. If a family does not find him, his future doesn't look promising...but with the love of a family, it could be.

Please pray for both Patrick and Evan. Share their photos if you feel compelled. Lets find these boys a family.

Orphan A Day: Aisha and Ivan

So I have not blogged the last few days because Reece's Rainbows website was having some issues and I couldn't access the links to different children. So it appears to be all fixed now and here we go!

Please meet Aisha and Ivan. Look at Aisha's eyes...the deep brown that just draws you in! By adopting her it could open the door to many other children in her region for adoption.

Ivan is such a sweet little boy. He needs surgery and the love of a family. Please pray for him...he truly needs all the prayers he can get! I know there have been families that have wanted to commit to him but unfortunately have not been able to because of reasons outside of their control.

Orphan A Day: Brody and Auggie

Today I am introducing you to two brothers...aren't they sweet?? These are two boys who need a family and what better way to add to your family than by adding two? I imagine that adopting internationally, bringing more than one home at a time can be a good thing because they have someone they are familiar with and someone they can speak too while learning to speak English.

They have been separated and are living in different orphanages but a family could bring them together again. They do have some needs but have made so many gains which is always incredible to hear.

Orphan A Day: Darby, Clayton and Constance

Okay, so I am feeling lame...I have not posted like I had wanted since Thursday. So today, I am posting about three different orphans. I had been in such a good routine with looking at photos and posting whomever I felt called to in the moment...this week will be better and I'll get back on track.

Please meet Darby...isn't he just a doll?? I love his incredibly beautiful smile!! Look at all the potential in this little one...all he needs is a family to love him and call his own.

Clayton is another charming little boy. He needs a smaller family because of where he lives...anyone out there that has just a couple of kiddos looking for a precious little boy??

And now meet Constance. I'll end this post with a little girl :) Constance has been transferred already but from her description, she is just lovable!! She was taken very good care of before she was transferred...and transferred is not always a terrible thing because some institutions are better than others but regardless, every child needs a forever family. Now that she has been transferred it will become harder for her to find her family but not impossible.

Please pray for these little ones. Pray that their needs are met. Pray that someone sees them and falls in love with them. Pray that their forever family finds them. I want to end this blog with a link to a video that I personally found very powerful.

Orphan A Day: Emmitt

Before I begin a new post for todays orphan, I was so excited to see this :)....I posted Hannah a few days ago and she is now on My Family Found Me!! I know it is not because of me but she will be one less orphan in the world after her family finishes the adoption process!

Please meet Emmitt. Emmitt is such a handsome young man. Emmitt has already been transferred but still has a friendly, kind and sweet spirit about him. From people who have met him, it is obvious he wants and desires a family to call his own.

Look at him...pray for him. Please share his photo. Lets find him a family before it is too late.

Orphan A Day: Felix

I have a list of kiddos in need of a forever family and many of them are in Russia. I have not posted them yet because as it stands now, Americans cannot adopt them but donations can be made to their accounts because countries like Canada and anywhere other than America can still adopt them. Tonight though, instead of going off of my list of kiddos who are not in Russia, I decided to look on Reece's Rainbow at children who have sizable grants which make adopting them so much easier because it means less money that a family would have to come up with.

So, without further ado, please meet Felix. Felix was taken very good care of when he was younger but has been transferred and has not handled it very well. It just shows what love can do. It shows that to take that away, it can be very traumatic for children. Felix will be 10 years old this year and is just so handsome!!

Did you click on his link? Did you see the amount that has been raised for his adoption?? That is a good chunk of change that would really help a family out. Please share Felix and pray that his family finds him. This little boy needs to feel loved again!!

Orphan A Day: Alexei

Look at this handsome, sweet little fellow! Meet Alexei...I guess I shouldn't call him little considering he will be 10 this year but he is just the cutest little boy. Alexei has already been transferred which means his chance of finding a forever family is smaller but certainly not impossible.

Would you please share his photo? The more people who know about him, the better his chances are of finding his forever family.

Orphan A Day: Paige

Please meet Paige. Paige has known the love of a family and needs to feel that love again. She would benefit from therapies so much...therapies that are so easy to have access to here in America. I don't know how old she is in this photo but she is so little compared to her age. She is a beauty!

Please keep Paige in prayer and share her photo if you feel called. It is so important that she and other orphans out there find their forever families as soon as possible.

Orphan A Day: Hannah

Meet Hannah. Isn't she a beauty? Hannah is another kiddo that I wish we could adopt...the first time I saw her I just couldn't do anything but smile. She is in a country where her file is only available for a short time. Once it is sent back, it can be requested again but hopefully Hannah's forever family will see her now while it is currently available.

She has the most beautiful eyes doesn't she?? And I just love her hair :)

Please pray for Hannah. No donations can be made for her adoption fund until her family finds her...but we can all pray and share her photo.

Orphan A Day: Nolan

Today I would like you to meet Nolan. Nolan has already been transferred from the orphanage and needs a family now. His grant for his adoption is about half way to the cost of his adoption...which is great news because a family wouldn't have to come up with the full amount. A family who is interested in him would need to have upfront costs between $5,000-$8,000 but once you receive the invitation to come meet him, the money in the grant would be available to assist with other costs like airfare. I believe this is how it works. The upfront costs would be for a home study, fees for the agency and other paperwork.

Per the description of Nolan, he is a sweet boy whom many people love. But the right family for Nolan has not come along yet although he has touched many hearts.

Isn't he just the sweetest little boy? Please pray that Nolan finds his family very soon!!

Orphan A Day: Frank and Francis

Okay, so I didn't get on yesterday like I had wanted...I'll have to leave the reasons for that for a different post. Today, I want you to meet Frank and Francis. Both two very handsome young boys.

You can read more about Frank here. This is from a fellow blogger who knows more about Frank than I do. He is a sweet young boy in need of a forever family. From his description, he sounds like such a charming young boy who could do so well with a family. Please pray for Frank and share his photo.

Oh sweet Francis. Francis has needs that cannot be met in an orphanage. Francis needs a family who can get him the therapies he needs to help him with development. From his description it sounds like he is taken care of with basic needs which is always encouraging to hear but in the end, his needs cannot be met the way they could be if he was with his forever family. Please pray that someone steps forward for Francis too.

Orphan A Day: Holden

Please meet Holden. The two photos I am posting are the harsh reality of children living in an orphanage who is transferred to an adult mental institution. It doesn't have to be this way.

Holden Before
Look at the life in his eyes and his smile!

Holden After being transferred
The life is gone and he just looks so sad now.

You cannot look at these photos and tell me that they don't deserve a family. Not all children suffer the way Holden is suffering but it happens far too many...even one is too many. This is no way for a child to live. This is what the ban on American adoptions from Russia could cause for children living there. I know people may not be thrilled with me posting such a heartbreaking photo but I am trying to spread awareness and Holden along with every other orphan out there needs to be rescued, adopted and loved by a forever family. Please pray for Holden. Please pray that an exception can be made to this ban so that children in Russia who have special needs can have a chance to have a forever family.

Orphan A Day: Max

Meet Max. Max was just listed with Reece's Rainbow and it is so important that he finds a family soon because he is 15. Max will age out at 16. He deserves the love of a family. He is a handsome young man who really desires to have a family.

Please pray for Max. I was excited today to see My Family Found Me updates on Reece's Rainbow. I have a list of kiddos to blog about and two of them have found their families :) I haven't had a chance to blog about them yet but I am so happy that someone found them and connected with them!!

Orphan A Day: Jason

Meet Jason. Isn't he a charming young man? Jason has already been transferred and is really in need of a forever family. He will be 10 this year and is just now learning how to walk. He needs a family most likely with lots of experience and patience to help Jason overcome everything he has been through in his first 10 years of life.

Won't you consider Jason? Will you pray for him?

Orphan A Day: Bowen

I love this little baby....so much that I really wish we were in a position to adopt right now. Please meet Bowen. My heart smiles but breaks for him. He is missing parts of all of his limbs but it looks like he may be a good candidate for prosthetics. He is still so young and a great age to add into a family. He needs a family to call his own. This post breaks my heart to write and share because a part of me wants him for my family but because we can't adopt right now, I just want him with a family.

Please pray for Bowen. Pray that his forever family steps up for him so he can get the care and love he needs. Please donate if you can so a family might be more willing to step up. International adoption is expensive but so worth it!!
